Age Limit & Selection Process

  • Age Limit: Maximum 37 years (UR Male), 40 years (UR Female, BC / EBC), 42 years (SC / ST) as on 01/08/2026. Relaxation : Bihar State Health Service cadre 5 years, PwD 10 years; only one relaxation is given.
  • Selection Process: Merit Points (no written exam) → Document Verification → Panel / Merit List.

Eligibility Details

  • PG degree in the subject, MCI / NMC recognised (DNB accepted); Diploma only if degree holders are short.
  • Anatomy / Physiology (non-medical) : Medical M.Sc. with Ph.D.; MD Medicine may apply for Geriatrics.
  • Not eligible : 3 year SR / Tutor tenure done in that subject, or under proceedings or suspension.
  • Seat share : 40% BHS, 40% PG from Bihar, 20% from outside. Bond NOC and other rules : prospectus.

Salary & Pay Scale Details

  • Honorarium (prospectus 2026 (III)) : ₹1,15,000/-
  • Advertisement No. 01 : Pay Level 9 for medical teachers, with Dearness Allowance and other allowances.
  • Doctors already in the Bihar State Health Service cadre keep their present pay with Dearness Allowance and other allowances.
  • No travel allowance is paid for counselling.

Merit Points for Selection

  • MBBS marks : 1 point above 50%, one more per 5%, up to 5; speciality marks the same.
  • MD / MS : 10 points; Ph.D. / DM / M.Ch. : 10 more.
  • Bihar government / semi-government experience : 2 points per full year, up to 10. Interview abolished; all get 6.
  • Minimum 16 points needed. Grace marks don’t count; foreign graduates use FMGE marks.

Application Process

  1. Open bceceboard.bihar.gov.in and click “Online Portal of Senior Resident / Tutor under Health Dept.”, then “Apply for Senior Resident / Tutor”.
  2. Click New Registration using your own or a parent’s mobile and email ID; verify both, they cannot be changed later.
  3. Sign in with your Registration No. and password and select the department; apply separately for each PG subject you hold.
  4. Fill in personal, contact and educational details; choose the reservation category carefully, as it cannot be changed later.
  5. Upload a high-contrast colour photograph and signature as per the instructions on the portal.
  6. Click “Final Submit & Proceed to Payment” and pay the fee online before the last date, or the form is rejected.
  7. Download the Confirmation Page and Fee Receipt, fix any mistake in the editing window, and bring the printout to counselling.
