Age Limit & Selection Process

• Age Limit: Minimum 21 years as on 01/08/2026; maximum 37 years (UR Male), 40 years (UR Female, BC / EBC), 42 years (SC / ST). Relaxation : PwD 10 years, Ex-Servicemen 3 years plus defence service, and 10 years under Rule 4.1 (V) of the School Librarian Rules, 2025.
• Selection Process: Computer Based Test (CBT) → Pass Certificate for those reaching the qualifying marks (normalised score).

Exam Details – Qualifying Exam

• Official Name : Vidyalaya Pustakalayadhyaksh Patrata Pariksha 2026 (School Librarian Eligibility Test 2026)
• Held on the directions of the Director, Secondary Education, Letter No. 09/B.V.P.S.-05/2025-533 dated 23/09/2025, and the Secretary, Education Department, Bihar, Letter No. 03/M.Shi./Aa.-319/2026-1634 dated 01/09/2026.

• Citizen of India and resident of Bihar.
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 45% marks from a recognised university. SC / ST / EBC / BC / PwD / Women / EWS get 5% relaxation in these marks (Bihar residents only).
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science from a recognised university.
• Alim (Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University, Patna / Bihar State Madrasa Education Board) and Shastri (Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University) count as graduation.

Qualifying Marks

• General : 50%
• Backward Class (BC) : 45.5%
• Extremely Backward Class (EBC) : 42.5%
• SC / ST / PwD / Women : 40%

Exam Pattern

• Exam Mode : Computer Based Test (CBT), multiple choice questions
• Library Science : 100 Marks
• General Knowledge : 50 Marks
• Total : 150 Marks
• Each question carries 1 mark.
• Negative Marking : No
• Duration : 150 minutes
• Syllabus : The Library Science graduation syllabus of the state’s recognised universities.

How to Download Dummy Admit Card and Correct Details

1. Log in at sletregistration.cbrt.co.in with your Application No. / User ID and Password before the correction last date.
2. Check the Candidate Detail page and enter the right details under Correct Details.
3. Click Go to Document & Payment and upload a PDF of the supporting document for each field you corrected.
4. Changing category from SC / ST / PwD to General / BC / EBC needs the fee difference paid, or it is not accepted.
5. Click SAVE CORRECTION, then OK; the dummy admit card opens. Click Correct my details to edit again.
6. Click FINAL SUBMIT, then OK, and download the dummy admit card; it is not valid for entry to the exam.
7. Roll number, centre, date and time come on the final admit card; no correction after it.
