Age Limit & Selection Process

  • Age Limit: Minimum 18 years as on 01/08/2026.
  • Maximum Age (General Male) : 37 years
  • Maximum Age (General Female, BC and EBC Male / Female) : 40 years
  • Maximum Age (SC / ST Male / Female) : 42 years
  • Age Relaxation: Regular employees of the Bihar Government 5 years (only if they have not used 5 attempts), PwD 10 years extra, Ex-Servicemen 3 years plus defence service (actual age not above 57 years).
  • Age is counted from the date of birth on the Matric (10th) certificate.
  • Selection Process: Interview (100 marks) → Merit List.
  • If more than 40000 candidates apply, a Preliminary Exam (OMR, objective MCQ) may be held first. About 10 times the number of vacancies are then called for the interview from candidates who get the qualifying marks.

Exam Pattern

  • Interview : 100 Marks. The merit list is made from interview marks.
  • Qualifying Marks in Interview : General 40%, BC 36.5%, EBC 34%, SC / ST / Women / PwD 32%
  • Preliminary Exam (only if more than 40000 candidates apply) : OMR based, objective multiple choice
  • Equal marks : the older candidate ranks higher. With the same date of birth, the candidate with the higher qualification ranks higher.

Application Process

  1. Open the Bihar Vidhan Sabha website vidhansabha.bihar.gov.in and go to Recruitment Advertisement.
  2. Open Advertisement No. 02/2026 (Office Attendant) and click “Apply Online” (from 07/11/2026, 11:00 AM).
  3. Register with your own working mobile number and email ID. Keep the user name and password safe till the final result.
  4. Fill the form. Claim your reservation category in the form, or you will not get its benefit.
  5. Upload scans of your qualification and reservation certificates, a recent photograph and your signature.
  6. Pay the fee online by Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card by 06/12/2026, and print the bank receipt.
  7. Submit the form. Log in again and download the filled form from “Download Filled Application Section”. Take two printouts.
  8. Check that the Bar Code and Application Number are printed on every page. Without them the form is not accepted.
  • Reserved category candidates of Bihar need a caste certificate and a domicile certificate. BC and EBC candidates also need a non-creamy layer certificate. Women candidates use certificates issued from their father’s permanent address.
  • EWS candidates need an income and asset certificate in the format set by the Bihar Government.
  • No correction is allowed after submission. The reservation category cannot be changed later.
  • Keep at least 5 extra copies of the photograph you upload.
  • Printed or handwritten forms are not accepted.
