Physical Efficiency Test Standards

Shot Put (Gola Fek) Event

Male: Must throw a 16-pound ball to a minimum distance of 14 Feet (3 attempts maximum).

Female: Must throw a 12-pound ball to a minimum distance of 8 Feet (3 attempts maximum).

Salary & Pay Scale Details

  • Assistant Sub-Inspector (Technical): Level 5 - ₹29,200 – ₹92,300/- (7th Pay Commission)
  • Additional Benefits: DA (Currently 60% as of Jan 2026), HRA, Medical Allowances, Ration Money, Uniform Allowance, and Pension (NPS).
  • Job Security: Permanent Bihar State Government technical police cadre post with designated authority in the wireless wing.

Exam Pattern

Preliminary Examination

  • Total Questions: 100 Questions
  • Total Marks: 100 Marks
  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Negative Marking: 0.2 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Section 1 (General): 40 Questions - General Knowledge & Current Affairs.
  • Section 2 (Technical): 60 Questions - Questions from your chosen core diploma stream (ECE, ETC, IT, or Electrical & Electronics).
  • Shortlisting: Candidates must score a minimum of 30% to qualify. Top candidates equal to 30 times the total vacancies will be selected for the Main Exam.

Main Examination

The Mains phase features two distinct papers held on the same day:

  • Paper-I (Language Test):
    • Structure: 100 Questions | 100 Marks (50 marks General Hindi + 50 marks General English).
    • Duration: 1.5 Hours.
    • Negative Marking: 0.2 marks per incorrect answer.
    • Status: Purely qualifying. Candidates must score a minimum of 30%. These marks are not added to the final merit list.
  • Paper-II (Technical Core Subject):
    • Structure: 100 Questions | 100 Marks (Strictly engineering diploma level questions based on your chosen stream).
    • Duration: 3 Hours.
    • Negative Marking: 0.2 marks per incorrect answer.
    • Status: The Merit Decider. Candidates equal to 5 times the total vacancies will be called for physical tests based entirely on this paper's score.

Exam Centers

  • Bihar: Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga and other major districts
  • Center Allocation: Allocated based on candidate preference and availability
  • Candidates must carry valid ID proof to the exam center
