Application Fee

• General / OBC : ₹1150/-

• Pay the Exam Fee Through Online Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI Only.

Age Limit & Selection Process

• Age Limit: Maximum 30 Years for JRF | No Upper Age Limit for Lectureship / Assistant Professor. Age relaxation as per rules for reserved categories.
• Selection Process: Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of two papers (Part A & Part B/C) | Qualifying for JRF and/or Assistant Professor eligibility.

Subjects Available – Total Subjects – 5

• M.Sc or equivalent degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD) from recognized university.
• Integrated M.Sc or B.E/B.Tech/B.Pharma/MBBS candidates also eligible as per norms.
• Appearing candidates in final year may apply.

Exam Shifts & Timing Details

The examination will be conducted entirely in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across two daily shifts:

• Shift 1 (Morning): 09:00 AM to 12:00 Noon (180 Minutes duration – No break between papers)
• Shift 2 (Afternoon): 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM (180 Minutes duration – No break between papers)

Exam Pattern

Core Structure (Common for All 5 Subjects)

• Exam Mode: Online Only (Computer-Based Test – CBT).
• Total Exam Duration: 3 Hours (180 Minutes) with no break between sections.
• Total Maximum Marks: 200 Marks.
• Paper Part Division: Single question paper divided into Part A, Part B, and Part C.
  • Part A (General Aptitude): Common for all subjects. Focuses on logical reasoning, graphical analysis, numerical ability, and quantitative comparisons.
  • Part B (Subject MCQs): Focuses on conventional, syllabus-specific multiple-choice questions.
  • Part C (Scientific Application): High-level analytical questions designed to test scientific concepts and research applications.

Life Sciences

• Total Questions in Paper: 145 Questions | Maximum Questions to Attempt: 75 Questions
• Part A: 20 Questions (Attempt any 15) | +2 Marks per correct answer | -0.5 Mark deduction for wrong answers.
• Part B: 50 Questions (Attempt any 35) | +2 Marks per correct answer | -0.5 Mark deduction for wrong answers.
• Part C: 75 Questions (Attempt any 25) | +4 Marks per correct answer | -1.0 Mark deduction for wrong answers.

Chemical Sciences

• Total Questions in Paper: 120 Questions | Maximum Questions to Attempt: 75 Questions
• Part A: 20 Questions (Attempt any 15) | +2 Marks per correct answer | -0.5 Mark deduction for wrong answers.
• Part B: 40 Questions (Attempt any 35) | +2 Marks per correct answer | -0.5 Mark deduction for wrong answers.
• Part C: 60 Questions (Attempt any 25) | +4 Marks per correct answer | -1.0 Mark deduction for wrong answers.

Mathematical Sciences

• Total Questions in Paper: 120 Questions | Maximum Questions to Attempt: 60 Questions
• Part A: 20 Questions (Attempt any 15) | +2 Marks per correct answer | -0.5 Mark deduction for wrong answers.
• Part B: 40 Questions (Attempt any 25) | +3 Marks per correct answer | -0.75 Mark deduction for wrong answers.
• Part C: 60 Questions (Attempt any 20) | +4.75 Marks per correct answer | No Negative Marking in Part C.

Physical Sciences

• Total Questions in Paper: 75 Questions | Maximum Questions to Attempt: 55 Questions
• Part A: 20 Questions (Attempt any 15) | +2 Marks per correct answer | -0.5 Mark deduction for wrong answers.
• Part B: 25 Questions (Attempt any 20) | +3.5 Marks per correct answer | -0.875 Mark deduction for wrong answers.
• Part C: 30 Questions (Attempt any 20) | +5 Marks per correct answer | -1.25 Marks deduction for wrong answers.

Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean & Planetary Sciences

• Total Questions in Paper: 150 Questions | Maximum Questions to Attempt: 75 Questions
• Part A: 20 Questions (Attempt any 15) | +2 Marks per correct answer | -0.5 Mark deduction for wrong answers.
• Part B: 50 Questions (Attempt any 35) | +2 Marks per correct answer | -0.5 Mark deduction for wrong answers.
• Part C: 80 Questions (Attempt any 25) | +4 Marks per correct answer | -1.32 Marks deduction for wrong answers.
