Exam Pattern

Tier-I: Preliminary Exam

  • Mode: OMR-Based (Pen-Paper)
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours (Post-dependent)
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark (0.33) for every wrong answer.
  • Common Sections: General Awareness, Reasoning Ability, ICT Knowledge, and Teaching Aptitude (for teachers).
  • Language Competency (Part-VI): TGT/Warden: 30 Marks (English, Hindi, Regional Language).
    • Others: 20 Marks (English, Hindi).
    • Crucial Rule: You must score at least 40% in this section to have your other sections evaluated.

Tier-II: Subject Knowledge

Only candidates who cleared Tier-I (shortlisted in a 1:10 ratio) appeared for this stage. This tier determines the final merit list.

  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 3 Hours
  • Structure:
    • Objective Part: 40 Questions (Subject-specific).
    • Descriptive Part: 15 Questions (Analytical/Long answer type).

Post-Specific Patterns

  • PGT/TGT: Tier-I (Aptitude) + Tier-II (Subject Depth).
  • Principal: Tier-I + Tier-II + Interview (40 Marks).
  • JSA (Clerk): Tier-I + Tier-II + Typing Test (Qualifying nature).
  • Lab Attendant/Warden: Tier-I (Aptitude) + Tier-II (Lab/Administrative Knowledge).

Marking Scheme

  • Correct Answer: +1 Mark
  • Incorrect Answer: -0.33 Mark
  • Unanswered: 0 Marks

Note: For the Principal post, the final merit is prepared with an 80:20 weightage (80% from Tier-II and 20% from the Interview).
