Exam Pattern

Preliminary Examination (Qualifying)

  • Paper I: General Studies (100 Marks) – Determines merit for the Mains.
  • Paper II: CSAT (100 Marks) – Qualifying only (Minimum 33% required).
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 (1/4th) marks deducted for each wrong answer.

Main Examination (Descriptive - 600 Marks)

  • Paper 1: English & English Essay (100 Marks)
  • Paper 2: Hindi & Hindi Essay (100 Marks)
  • Paper 3: General Studies-I (100 Marks) – History, Heritage, Geography, Society.
  • Paper 4: General Studies-II (100 Marks) – Polity, Governance, Constitution, IR.
  • Paper 5: General Studies-III (100 Marks) – Economy, Environment, Sci-Tech.
  • Paper 6: General Studies-IV (100 Marks) – Ethics, Integrity, Aptitude.

Personality Test (Interview - 75 Marks)

  • Assesses leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Final Merit: Calculated based on 675 Marks (Mains + Interview).
