Salary & Pay Scale Details

• Pay Scale: Level 7 - ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400/- (7th Central Pay Commission)
• Basic Pay Starting: ₹44,900
• Additional Benefits:
  • Dearness Allowance (DA) at current central government rates.
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA) depending on posting tier.
  • Special Security Allowance (SSA): 20% of Basic Pay extra (mandatory for IB executive cadres).

Tier-I: Written Examination (Objective)

• Mode: Online Computer-Based Test (CBT)
• Total Marks: 100 Marks (100 MCQs)
• Duration: 1 Hour (60 minutes)
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer
• Subject Allocation:
  • Current Affairs: 20 Marks
  • General Studies: 20 Marks
  • Numerical/Logical/Analytical Ability & Reasoning: 20 Marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 20 Marks
  • English Language: 20 Marks

Tier-II: Written Examination (Descriptive)

• Mode: Offline Pen & Paper Test
• Total Marks: 50 Marks
• Duration: 1 Hour
• Structure:
  • Essay Writing: 20 Marks
  • English Comprehension: 10 Marks
  • Long Answer Questions (2 questions × 10 marks): 20 Marks (Based on Current Issues, Economics, or Socio-political themes)
• Mandatory Cutoff: You must score a minimum of 33% (17 out of 50 marks) in Tier-II to be eligible for shortlisting to the interview stage.

Tier-III: Interview & Personality Test

• Total Marks: 100 Marks
• Focus Areas: Assesses communication skills, situational judgment, mental alertness, and security awareness.
• Psychometric Evaluation: A specialized psychometric or aptitude evaluation is integrated directly into this interview phase.
