Application Fee

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in the related field after the qualification.
  • Essential : Hands-on experience in Linux server administration (RHEL or similar) and at least elementary experience in network management (L3 switch).
AssistantGrade ‘B’
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university with minimum 60% aggregate marks, preferably in Science / Commerce / Statistics / Mathematics / Economics, Computer Applications / IT / Data Analytics, or Business Administration / Management.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel (advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, data validation and cleaning, conditional formatting).
  • Minimum 2 years work experience after the qualification in data validation, reconciliation, MIS reporting, record management or data analysis in MS Excel.
Programming AssistantGrade ‘B’
  • Full time B.Sc (IT) / BCA / B.Sc (Computer Science) or equivalent, OR Engineering Degree in Computer Science / IT.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience after the qualification in handling applications in UNIX / Linux, file handling, data entry and data transfer.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programming in any language and good knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Degrees through correspondence / distance education / open university are not accepted.
  • Fractions of a percentage are ignored: 59.99% counts as less than 60%.

Salary & Pay Scale Details

  • Server Administrator (Grade ‘D’) : Basic Pay ₹35,400/- · Monthly Emoluments ₹73,020/- · Annual CTC ₹14.09 Lakh
  • Assistant and Programming Assistant (Grade ‘B’) : Basic Pay ₹25,500/- · Monthly Emoluments ₹54,210/- · Annual CTC ₹10.57 Lakh
  • Approximate figures by IBPS (start of scale, October 2026); other benefits as per IBPS rules.
  • Service Bond : ₹1 Lakh for 2 years (extended by any loss of pay days)

Exam Pattern

  • Mode : Online exam
  • Total Questions : 100, Total Marks : 100, Time : 90 minutes (composite), Language : English
  • Negative Marking : 0.25 (one fourth) of the marks of the question for each wrong answer; no penalty for a question left blank.
  • A minimum score in each test is needed. Cut-offs are fixed by IBPS as per vacancies.

Server Administrator

  • Aptitude : 30 Questions, 30 Marks
  • Professional Knowledge : 70 Questions, 70 Marks

Programming Assistant

  • Aptitude : 50 Questions, 50 Marks
  • Professional Knowledge : 50 Questions, 50 Marks

Assistant

  • General Awareness : 20 Questions, 20 Marks
  • Knowledge of English : 20 Questions, 20 Marks
  • Reasoning : 20 Questions, 20 Marks
  • Numerical Ability : 20 Questions, 20 Marks

Exam Center

  • Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, IBPS House, 90 Ft DP Road, Behind Thakur Polytechnic, Off W E Highway, Kandivali (East), Mumbai 400101.
  • Come on the date and time in your call letter. Late arrivals and candidates without the required documents are not allowed.
  • Travel, boarding and lodging are at your own cost. IBPS does not pay any travel cost.

Application Process

  1. Keep a personal email ID active till the process ends, as IBPS may send the call letter to it.
  2. Open www.ibps.in or the Apply Online link below and click “Click here for New Registration”.
  3. Enter your basic details and note down the provisional registration number and password.
  4. Fill in the form for one post, with names spelt exactly as in your certificates.
  5. Upload your photo, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, resume (PDF), 10th certificate and age, qualification and experience proofs, as per Annexure II.
  6. Capture a live photo through webcam or mobile phone, then click “Complete Registration”; no change is allowed after this.
  7. Pay the fee online and print the application form and e-receipt before the last date to print.
