Application Fee

• All Candidates : Nil
• No application fee is charged for the TES 57 online form.

Age Limit & Selection Process

• Age Limit: Minimum 16½ years and Maximum 19½ years as on 01/07/2027.
• Date of Birth: Not born before 01/01/2008 and not after 01/01/2011 (both days included).
• Only the date of birth in the Class 10 certificate is accepted. It cannot be changed later.
• Selection Process: Online Application → Shortlisting → SSB Interview → Medical Examination → Merit List → Joining Letter.

Vacancy Details – Total Posts – 90

• 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognised board. PCM percentage is counted on Class 12 marks only.
• Must have appeared in JEE (Mains) 2026 (mandatory).
• Unmarried male candidates only. Candidates must not marry until training is complete.
• Citizen of India, or subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin who migrated to settle in India permanently. A certificate of eligibility from the Government of India is needed for the last two, except Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
• Vacancies are provisional and may go up or down as per the Army’s requirement.

Training and Engineering Degree

• Total Training : 4 years (3 + 1)
• Phase I : 3 years of basic military and engineering training at a Cadets Training Wing (CTW) at CME Pune, MCTE Mhow or MCEME Secunderabad
• Phase II : 1 year of basic military and engineering training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun
• Degree : Engineering degree after 4 years of training. A maximum of 2 relegations on academic grounds are allowed.
• CTW CME Pune : Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Corps of Engineers
• CTW MCTE Mhow : Telecom and IT Engineering (Dual Degree), Corps of Signals
• CTW MCEME Secunderabad : Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers
• Commission : Permanent Commission in the rank of Lieutenant after 4 years
• Cost of Training : ₹13,940/- per week (as on 2021), recovered from a cadet who is withdrawn or resigns for personal reasons

Physical Efficiency Test Standards

Officer Cadet (Male) on Arrival for Training

• 2.4 Km Run : 10 minutes 30 seconds
• Push Up : 40
• Pull Up : 06
• Sit Up : 30
• Squats : 2 sets of 30 repetitions
• Lunges : 2 sets of 10 repetitions
• Swimming : Should know the basics of swimming

Medical Standards

• Medical standards for officer entry are given on joinindianarmy.nic.in.
• Medical examination is held at the nearest Military Hospital after the SSB.
• A candidate declared unfit for TES or NDA is unfit for both entries.
• Tattoo policy is given on joinindianarmy.nic.in.

Salary & Pay Scale Details

• Stipend During Training : ₹56,100/- per month (fixed), after completing 3 years of training (while at IMA)
• Rank After Training : Lieutenant
• Pay Level : Level 10 (pay fixed in the first cell on commission)
• Pay Scale : ₹56,100 – 1,77,500
• Military Service Pay (MSP) : ₹15,500/- per month (Lieutenant to Brigadier)
• Captain (after 2 years) : Level 10B, ₹61,300 – 1,93,900
• Major (after 6 years) : Level 11, ₹69,400 – 2,07,200
• Lieutenant Colonel (after 13 years) : Level 12A, ₹1,21,200 – 2,12,400
• Allowances : Dearness Allowance at civilian rates, Dress Allowance ₹20,000/- per year, Transport Allowance ₹7,200/- + DA (higher TPTA cities) or ₹3,600/- + DA (other places), ration in kind, field area allowances as per posting
• Insurance : ₹30 lakh cover for cadets not on stipend (one time premium ₹14,000/-); ₹1.25 crore cover for cadets on stipend (₹12,500/- per month)

Shortlisting and SSB Interview

• Shortlisting : Cut off based on the JEE (Mains) Common Rank List (CRL) and other set parameters
• After shortlisting, log in and select the SSB centre and date. Slots are given on a first come, first served basis.
• SSB Duration : 5 days, in 2 stages. Candidates who fail Stage I return the same day.
• SSB call letter is sent only by e-mail and SMS.
• Merit list is made only on SSB marks. Joining letters go by merit, vacancies and medical fitness.
• Travelling Allowance : AC 3 tier train fare or bus fare for the first SSB of this type of commission

SSB Centres

• Selection Centres : Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bengaluru (Karnataka) and Jalandhar (Punjab)
• No request to change the SSB date or centre is accepted.

Application Process

1. Open joinindianarmy.nic.in and enter the captcha to enter the site.
2. Click “Online Application” and register.
3. Fill in your details. Enter your exact Class 12 PCM percentage up to 2 decimals, without rounding off.
4. Enter your JEE (Mains) 2026 application number.
5. Submit the form. You can edit it until the last date, but click Submit again after every edit.
6. Take 2 printouts of the application with Roll Number, available 30 minutes after the form closes.

• Submit only one application. More than one form cancels the candidature.
• Do not send any printout to the Directorate General of Recruiting.
• Carry to the SSB : one self-attested printout, Class 10 certificate and mark sheet, Class 12 certificate and mark sheet, ID proof, JEE (Mains) 2026 result copy (all originals), 2 sets of self-attested photocopies and 20 passport size photos.
• DigiLocker certificates are not accepted in place of original certificates.
• Queries are answered only through the Feedback/Queries option on the website, for queries sent up to 3 days before the form closes.
