  • Exam Date : March 1, 2026 (Sunday)
  • Correction Window (with Second Late Fee) : Open until 1 day before the exam
  • Standard Application : October 25 – November 27, 2025
  • 1st Phase Late Fee Window : November 28 – November 30, 2025
  • 2nd Phase Late Fee Window : December 1, 2025 – 10 days before the exam

Application Fee

  • General / OBC / Other State : ₹500/-
  • EWS : ₹250/-
  • SC / ST (MP Domicile) : ₹250/-
  • First Phase Late Fee : Base Fee + ₹3,000 (plus ₹40 portal charge).
  • Second Phase Late Fee : Base Fee + ₹25,000 (plus ₹40 portal charge).
  • Correction Fee : ₹50 per session for correcting errors in the submitted application form.
  • Pay the Exam Fee Through Online Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or SBI E-Challan Only. Portal Fee ₹40/- extra.

  • Selection Process: Written Exam - Paper 1 (General Aptitude - 100 Marks) + Paper 2 (Subject Specific - 200 Marks)

Salary & Pay Scale Details

  • Assistant Professor: Level 10 - ₹57,700 - ₹1,82,400/- (7th Pay Commission)
  • Additional Benefits: DA (Dearness Allowance), HRA (House Rent Allowance), Medical Reimbursement, Travel Allowance (TA), and DA on TA, National Pension System (NPS), Gratuity, and Group Insurance, Leave Benefit.
  • Academic Perks: 5 non-compounded increments for Ph.D. holders at the time of entry.
  • Gazetted Status: This is a Gazetted Second Class, permanent state government position.
  • Research Support: Eligibility for seed funding and research grants (up to ₹5 Lakhs) for academic projects.
  • Career Growth: Assistant Professor (Level 10) ➔ Assistant Professor Senior Scale (Level 11) (after 4–6 years). Assistant Professor Selection Grade (Level 12) ➔ Associate Professor (Level 13A). Professor (Level 14) ➔ Senior Professor / Principal.

Exam Pattern

  • Exam Format: Offline (Pen and Paper using OMR sheets).
  • Question Type: Objective-based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • Total Papers: Two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2).
  • Session: Both papers are held in a single 3-hour session with no break in between.
  • Total Questions: 150 questions.
  • Total Marks: 300 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: +2 marks for every correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: None (Zero penalty for wrong answers).
  • Language: Bilingual (Questions available in both Hindi and English).

Paper 1: General Teaching & Research Aptitude

  • Total Marks: 100.
  • Core Units Covered: Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Reading Comprehension, Communication, Mathematical Reasoning & Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Information & Communication Technology (ICT), People, Development & Environment, Higher Education System (Governance & Administration)

Paper 2: Subject-Specific

  • Status: Elective (based on your chosen Postgraduation subject).
  • Focus: In-depth knowledge of the specialized subject (31 options available).
  • Number of Questions: 100.
  • Total Marks: 200.
  • Content: Subject-specific syllabus based on UGC NET / CSIR NET standards.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

  • General / EWS: 40% (Total of 120 marks).
  • SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / PwD (MP residents): 35% (Total of 105 marks).
  • The Final Cut: Only the top 6% of candidates who meet the above marks are actually declared "Qualified."
