Recruitment Details - Total Fellowship - Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) & Lectureship

• M.Sc / Equivalent Degree with 55% Marks (General/EWS)
• For OBC-NCL: 55% Marks
• For SC/ST and PH Candidates: 50% Marks
• Integrated Course and B.E/B.Tech/B.Pharma and MBBS Candidates Are Also Eligible

Fellowship & Salary Details

• JRF Fellowship: ₹37,000/- per month for first 2 years (Recently increased from ₹31,000/-)
• SRF Fellowship: ₹42,000/- per month after 2 years (for PhD registered candidates)
• Annual Contingent Grant: ₹20,000/- per fellow to University/Institution
• Lectureship Salary: ₹37,000 - ₹67,000/- per month (Assistant Professor Level)
• Additional Benefits: House Rent Allowance (HRA), Research Grants, Conference Support
• Fellowship Duration: Up to 5 years (2 years JRF + 3 years SRF)
• Career Growth: PhD completion, Post-doctoral research, Faculty positions

Exam Difficulty & Competition Analysis

• Difficulty Level: Very High - National level competitive exam requiring extensive subject knowledge
• Expected Applications: 2,50,000-3,00,000 candidates across all subjects
• Competition Ratio: Approximately 1:50 to 1:100 (Subject-wise variation - Life Sciences highest competition)
• Previous Cut-off Range: 33% for General/EWS/OBC, 25% for SC/ST/PwD (Life Sciences: 98-99% percentile for JRF)
• Preparation Time: 8-12 months recommended for thorough preparation
• Success Rate: 2-5% overall selection rate - Requires intensive subject-specific preparation
• Exam Pattern: 3 hours, 200 marks, Part A (15×2=30), Part B (35×2=70), Part C (25×4=100)
• Negative Marking: 0.5 marks deducted for each wrong answer
