Age Limit & Selection Process

• Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 30-38 years (varies by post) as on 18/08/2025
• Age Relaxation: 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC (NCL), relaxation as per government norms
• Selection Process: Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination
• CBT Pattern: 100 MCQs, 2 hours duration, No negative marking, English & Assamese language

Salary & Pay Scale Details

• Grade 3 Pay Scale: ₹26,600 - 90,000/- per month (7th Pay Commission)
• Grade 5 Pay Scale: ₹32,000 - 1,27,000/- per month (7th Pay Commission)
• Grade 7 Pay Scale: ₹37,500 - 1,45,000/- per month (7th Pay Commission)
• Additional Benefits: DA, HRA (16-27%), Medical, TA, Cafeteria Allowance (35%), North East Allowance (10%)
• Special Allowances: Mining Allowance (12%), Special Allowance (8%), Transport Subsidy

Exam Difficulty & Competition Analysis

• Difficulty Level: Moderate to High - Technical knowledge required for diploma posts
• Expected Applications: 15,000-20,000 candidates for 262 posts
• Competition Ratio: Approximately 1:60 to 1:80 (High Competition)
• Previous Cut-off Range: 50-65% marks for general category, 40-55% for reserved categories
• Qualifying Marks: 50% for General/OBC, 40% for SC/ST/PwBD categories
• Preparation Time: 3-4 months recommended for technical subjects preparation
• Success Rate: Approximately 1.5-2% selection rate based on previous recruitment cycles

Exam Center Details

• Assam: Written examination will be conducted at various centers across Assam
• Major Centers: Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Tezpur
• Arunachal Pradesh: Itanagar, Naharlagun, Changlang and nearby centers
• OIL Headquarters: Duliajan (Field Headquarters) - Primary exam center
• Language: Exam will be conducted in English and Assamese languages
• Final exam center allocation will be mentioned in the admit card
