Salary & Pay Scale Details
- Assistant Section Officer : Level 9, ₹35,400 – 1,12,400
- Starting pay ₹35,400 (Cell 1) plus Dearness and other allowances, Odisha Revised Scales of Pay (ORSP) Rules, 2017 pay matrix

Exam Pattern
- Paper I – General Awareness : 100 Questions, 100 Marks, 1½ hours
- Paper II – Reasoning & Mental Ability 50 + Mathematics (10th level) 50 : 100 Marks, 1½ hours
- Paper III – English 100 + Odia 100 : 200 Marks, 2 hours
- Objective (MCQ), 0.25 negative mark for each wrong answer; questions answered in English except the Odia paper
- Minimum marks in each paper : UR / SEBC 35%, SC / ST 30%, PwD 28%
- Computer Skill Test (Windows, MS Office, MS Access, Internet) : 50 Marks, 1 hour, qualifying with 40%; about 1.5 times the vacancies are called

Application Process
- Read the advertisement on opsc.gov.in, then click Apply Online to open the OPSC application portal once the link opens.
- Register on the portal to get your Permanent Public Service Account Number (PPSAN); apply through one PPSAN account only.
- Log in and fill the online form carefully; the form shows options based on the details you enter.
- Upload a recent passport size photo, full signature and left-hand thumb impression, all clearly visible.
- Upload your HSC, degree, Odia test pass and other certificates that apply, such as caste, PwD or Ex-Servicemen.
- Choose two exam zones in order of preference and enter your bank account details for the fee refund.
- Pay the fee online if it applies, submit the form, and keep a signed printout for document verification.
