Exam Pattern & Competition Analysis

Phase I: Written Test (Total 250 Marks)

  • Dictation: 320 words at 80 WPM for 4 minutes.
  • Revision Time: 7 minutes (to review your shorthand notes).
  • Transcription Time: 15 minutes (to type the shorthand into the computer).
  • Qualifying Standard: Minimum 85% accuracy required.

Part B: Objective MCQ Test (50 Marks)

  • English Language & Grammar: 30 Questions (Spotting errors, synonyms, antonyms, idioms, active/passive voice).
  • Basic Computer Science: 20 Questions (MS Office, hardware, shortcuts, internet, security).
  • Duration: 30 Minutes.
  • Qualifying Standard: Minimum 40% marks (20 out of 50).
  • Negative Marking: None.

Part C: English Computer Typing Test (100 Marks)

  • Task: Type a passage of approx. 400 words at 40 WPM.
  • Duration: 10 Minutes.
  • Qualifying Standard: Minimum 90% accuracy required.

Phase II: Interview (10 Marks)

  • Candidates who qualify for all three parts of the written test (based on accuracy and marks) are called for an interview.
  • Qualifying Standard: Minimum 30% marks (3 out of 10).
