Age Limit & Selection Process
- Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 37 years as on 01/01/2026. Relaxation (Punjab residents only; others apply as UR): SC / BC / OBC 5 years, PwBD 10 years, Ex-Servicemen military service + 3 years; government employees up to 45 years.
- Selection Process: Written Exam (CBT) → Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) → Checking of Original Testimonials / Interaction.

Eligibility Details
- Qualification : B.A. or B.Sc. degree, or an equivalent degree, from a recognised University.
- Matriculation (10th) passed with Punjabi as one of the subjects, and proficiency in operating computers.
- The qualification must be held on the last date of the online form.
- Government employees need a No Objection Certificate from their Head of Office or Department.

Exam Pattern
- Exam Mode : Online, Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Duration : 2 hours
- Total Marks : 100
- Negative Marking : 1/4 mark for every wrong answer in multiple choice questions
- Qualifying Marks : 33% in each subject and 40% in aggregate
- English Composition (Subjective) is checked only for candidates who get 33% or more in General Knowledge.

Written Exam (CBT)
- General Knowledge (Objective) : 50 Questions, 50 Marks
- English Composition (Objective) : 20 Questions, 20 Marks
- English Composition (Subjective, typed on computer) : 30 Marks
- Essay of 150 words : 10 Marks
- Letter : 5 Marks
- Precis : 5 Marks
- Translation from Punjabi to English : 10 Marks

Computer Proficiency Test
- Part-I Spreadsheet Test : 10 Marks, 10 minutes; pass with 4 or more marks
- Part-II Computer Typing Test in English : 30 W.P.M.
- Typing speed = (Words typed – Mistakes) / 10
- Part-II is checked only for candidates who pass Part-I.
- CPT marks are not counted in the final merit.
- Eligible PwBD candidates can ask for exemption from CPT within 15 days of the CBT result.

Exam Centers
- The exam can be held anywhere in Northern India.
- Exam dates will be given only on www.sssc.gov.in.
- No request to change the centre, city, date or shift is accepted.
- A demo / mock test link is put on the S.S.S.C. website 15 days before the exam.

Application Process
- Apply only online at www.sssc.gov.in under “Clerk District Courts of Punjab”; no other mode is accepted.
- Fill the Registration form first with a valid email ID and mobile number; all updates come on these.
- Log in and fill the Application Form; fill category and sub-category carefully, as no change is allowed later.
- Capture a real-time photograph with your device’s inbuilt camera or web camera while filling the form.
- Upload a passport size photo (not more than one month old, white background) and signature; keep five copies of the photo.
- Pay the fee online; the form counts as submitted only after the fee is paid.
- Submit only one form before the last date (only the latest counts) and keep a printout.
