Salary & Pay Scale Details- Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP): Level 2 - ₹19,900 – ₹63,200/- (7th Pay Commission)
- Additional Benefits: DA, HRA (27% in X class cities / 18% in Y / 9% in Z), Medical Facilities, Travel Allowance, Pension (NPS), Group Insurance, and Running Allowance (Based on km traveled).

Exam PatternStage 1: CBT-1 (Screening Test) - Role: Only for shortlisting; marks are not added to the final merit.
- Duration: 60 Minutes.
- Questions: 75 Questions (1 mark each).
- Subjects: Mathematics, Mental Ability, and General Science. (Note: General Awareness has been removed from CBT-1 in the 2026 cycle).
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer.
Stage 2: CBT-2 (Merit & Trade Test) - Total Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes.
- Total Questions: 175 Questions.
- Part-A (Merit): 100 Questions | 90 Minutes.
- Subjects: Maths, Reasoning, and Basic Science & Engineering.
- Crucial: 50% of your final merit score comes from this part.
- Part-B (Trade Qualifying): 75 Questions | 60 Minutes.
- Subject: Relevant trade questions based on your ITI/Diploma/Degree.
- Requirement: Must score at least 35% (26.25 marks) to qualify.
Stage 3: CBAT (Aptitude Test) - Requirement: Must clear each of the 5 "test batteries" separately.
- Minimum Score: T-score of 42 in each section.
- Weightage: 50% of your final merit score comes from this aptitude test (this is a big increase from the previous 30%).
- Negative Marking: No negative marking in this stage.
Stage 4 & 5: Verification & Medical - Document Verification: For candidates clearing the CBAT merit.
- Medical Standard: Mandatory A-1 Standard.
- Distant Vision: 6/6, 6/6 without glasses (no fogging test).
- Must pass tests for Color Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision, and Night Vision.

Exam Centers- All India: Major cities in all states based on RRB Region choice (Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Bengaluru, etc.)
- Center Allocation: Automatically allotted based on choices filled during application
- Candidates must choose RRB region carefully as posting will be in that zone
