Application Fee

  • General / OBC / EWS : ₹500/-
  • Refund : ₹400 is refunded to your bank account after you appear for the CBT-1 exam.

  • Refund : The full ₹250 is refunded after you appear for the CBT-1 exam.
  • Pay the Exam Fee Through Online Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking Only.

  • Total Estimated Monthly Gross: ₹65,000 – ₹72,000 (depending on city class)

Level-5 (Goods Train Manager, Jr. Accounts Assistant, Sr. Clerk cum Typist)

  • Initial Basic Pay: ₹29,200
  • Pay Scale: ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 (7th Pay Commission)
  • Total Estimated Monthly Gross: ₹54,000 – ₹60,000 (depending on city class)

Level-4 (Traffic Assistant)

  • Initial Basic Pay: ₹25,500
  • Pay Scale: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 (7th Pay Commission)
  • Total Estimated Monthly Gross: ₹47,000 – ₹52,000 (depending on city class)

Exam Pattern

CBT-1: Screening Test (Common for all Posts)

  • Total Duration: 90 Minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates)
  • Total Questions: 100
  • General Awareness: 40 Questions
  • Mathematics: 30 Questions
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 Questions
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for every wrong answer

CBT-2: Merit-Based Test

  • Total Duration: 90 Minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates)
  • Total Questions: 120
  • General Awareness: 50 Questions
  • Mathematics: 35 Questions
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 35 Questions
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for every wrong answer
  • Note: Separate CBT-2 exams are conducted for each Pay Level (Level 4, 5, and 6).

Additional Tests for Specific Graduate Posts

  • Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Required for Station Master and Traffic Assistant.
  • Typing Skill Test: Required for Senior Clerk cum Typist and Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist.
  • Non-Skill Test Posts: Goods Train Manager and Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor (Selection is based solely on CBT-2 marks followed by Document Verification).

Final Selection Process

  • Step 1: CBT-1 (Qualifying only)
  • Step 2: CBT-2 (Score used for merit)
  • Step 3: Skill Test / Aptitude Test (Where applicable)
  • Step 4: Document Verification (DV)
  • Step 5: Medical Examination

Exam Centers

  • All India: Major cities across all states as per candidate preference and availability
  • Center Allocation: Based on choices filled during application, confirmed via City Intimation Slip
  • Report 30 minutes early for biometric verification. Carry Admit Card & Photo ID.
