Age Limit & Selection Process

• Age Limit: Minimum 15 years and Maximum 24 years (not completed) as on 03/11/2026. Relaxation : OBC 3 years, SC / ST 5 years, PwBD 10 years, Ex-Servicemen service period + 3 years.
• Selection Process: Merit List (simple average of Class 10th and ITI marks, unit wise and trade wise) → Document Verification in the opted Division / Unit → Medical Certificate (Annexure VII).

Eligibility Details

• Class 10th with 50% aggregate marks and ITI (NCVT / SCVT) in the notified trade.
• Also accepted : Sewing Technology / Dress Making (Tailor), COPA (Programming & Systems Administration Assistant), Wood Work Technician (Carpenter), Plumber (Pipe Fitter), Foundryman (Blacksmith P/Way).
• Not eligible : Engineering Graduates, Diploma holders, and current or former apprentices.
• PwBD : only OH (40% or more), HH (60 decibels or more) and VH (Low Vision).

Apprenticeship Details

• Training Period : 1 year for all trades, under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
• Clusters : Mumbai, Bhusawal, Pune, Nagpur and Solapur. The Division / Unit cannot be changed after selection.
• No hostel accommodation is given.
• Training gives no right to a job in the Railway.

Salary & Pay Scale Details

• Apprentices get a monthly stipend, not a regular pay scale.
• Stipend (National or State Certificate Holder) : ₹9,600 per month
• Stipend as per Railway Board RBE No. 116/2025 dated 11/11/2025

Application Process

1. Keep ready your Aadhaar number or 28 digit Enrolment ID; candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya and Assam may give another Government ID.
2. Work out your Class 10th percentage first; for letter grades, use the midpoint method given in the notification.
3. Open the Apply Online link, register as a new applicant and note your Registration Number.
4. Fill in your name, father’s name and date of birth exactly as in your Class 10th certificate.
5. Choose one cluster and units within it that have slots for your ITI trade; only one application is allowed.
6. Upload photo and signature (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm JPG; 20-70 KB and 20-30 KB) and the documents listed in the notification.
7. Pay the fee online and submit before the last date (no change after payment), then print the application and e-receipt.
