Tier 1: Computer Based Examination (Qualifying Screening)

  • Exam Mode: Online Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Question Type: Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Total Questions: 100 Questions
  • Total Marks: 200 Marks
  • Time Duration: 1 Hour (60 Minutes)
  • Sectional Timing: 15 Minutes allotted per subject (New rules enforce strict section-wise discipline)
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer adds 2 marks.
  • Negative Marking: Deducts 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Subject Breakdown:
    • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 25 Questions | 50 Marks
    • General Awareness: 25 Questions | 50 Marks
    • Quantitative Aptitude: 25 Questions | 50 Marks
    • English Comprehension: 25 Questions | 50 Marks

Tier 2: Computer Based Examination (Merit Deciding)

  • Exam Mode: Online Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Paper-I Structure (Compulsory for All Posts): Must qualify in every section independently.
    • Session I (2 Hours 15 Minutes Total):
      • Section I (1 Hour Limit):
        • Module-I: Mathematical Abilities (30 Questions | 90 Marks)
        • Module-II: Reasoning & General Intelligence (30 Questions | 90 Marks)
      • Section II (1 Hour Limit):
        • Module-I: English Language & Comprehension (45 Questions | 135 Marks)
        • Module-II: General Awareness (25 Questions | 75 Marks)
      • Section III (15 Minutes Limit):
        • Module-I: Computer Knowledge Module (20 Questions | 60 Marks)

  • Session II (15 Minutes Total):
    • Section III (Qualifying Only):
      • Module-II: Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) Module (One Data Entry Task)
  • Paper-II Structure (Only for Junior Statistical Officer & Statistical Investigator Grade-II):
    • Statistics: 100 Questions | 200 Marks (Time: 2 Hours | Negative Marking: 0.50 Marks)

  • Tier 2 Paper-I Marking Scheme: Each correct answer adds 3 marks.
  • Tier 2 Paper-I Negative Marking: Deducts 1 mark for every incorrect choice across Sections I, II, and III.

Examination Centers

  • All India: Major cities across all states and union territories as per SSC regional offices
  • Center Allocation: Based on candidate’s preference and availability; candidates can choose 3 centers
