Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Examination 2026, inviting online applications for 1,748 tentative vacancies of Junior Engineer in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Telecom disciplines, along with Scientific Assistant in the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Eligible candidates with the prescribed Degree or Diploma in Engineering, depending on the post, can apply online from 2 September 2026 to 22 September 2026.

Exam Pattern Paper-I: 200 questions, 200 marks General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 questions, 50 marks General Awareness: 50 questions, 50 marks General Engineering: 100 questions, 100 marks Duration: 2 hours Paper-II: 100 questions, 300 marks General Engineering: 100 questions, 300 marks Duration: 2 hours Negative Marking: 0.25 marks in Paper-I and 1 mark in Paper-II for each wrong answer.
