Application Fee

Age Limit & Selection Process

• Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years for MTS, 18-27 years for Havaldar as on 01 August 2025
• Selection Process: Computer Based Examination (CBE) - Session I & II (mandatory), Physical Test for Havaldar only, Document Verification

• Indian Citizen or subject of Nepal/Bhutan or Tibetan Refugee

Salary & Pay Scale Details

• Pay Scale: Level 1 - ₹18,000 - 56,900/- (7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix)
• Grade Pay: ₹1,800/- (Pay Band-1: ₹5,200-20,200)
• In-Hand Salary: ₹18,000 - 22,000/- per month (varies by city posting)
• Additional Benefits: DA (53%), HRA (8-24%), TA, Medical, NPS, CGHS, Leave Encashment
• Job Security: Central Government Employee Benefits with Pension Scheme
• Career Growth: Promotion to LDC after 5-6 years, further to UDC, Section Officer

• Difficulty Level: Moderate to High - 10th level questions with high competition
• Expected Applications: 15-20 lakh candidates for 1075+ posts
• Competition Ratio: Approximately 1:15,000 to 1:20,000 (Very High Competition)
• Previous Cut-off Range: 35-50% marks for general category in CBE
• Preparation Time: 3-6 months recommended for thorough preparation

• Regional Coverage: 9 SSC regions covering all states and union territories

• Other Centers: Lucknow, Kanpur, Jaipur, Bhopal, Patna, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Kochi
• Preference: Candidates can choose 3 exam centers in order of preference during application
• Final exam center allocation will be mentioned in the admit card - no changes allowed after allotment
