• Note: Exam-wise application fees are charged separately for each SSC exam after OTR.

Age Limit & Selection Process

• Age Limit: No age restriction for OTR registration. Exam-wise age criteria apply as per individual notifications (generally 18-32 years depending on post).
• Age Relaxation: As per Government of India rules for each SSC exam (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PwD: 10-15 years, Ex-Servicemen: as per rules).
• Selection Process: OTR is only for registration. Actual selection process involves Computer Based Test (CBT), Descriptive Test, Skill Test, Physical Test (where applicable), and Document Verification as per respective SSC exam.

• Group B Posts (e.g., SSC CGL): Pay Level 6 to 8 – ₹35,400 to ₹1,51,100 (as per 7th Pay Commission) + applicable allowances
• Group C Posts (e.g., CHSL, MTS): Level 1 to 5 – ₹18,000 to ₹92,300/- (7th Pay Commission) + allowances

Exam Difficulty & Competition Analysis

• SSC exams are highly competitive, with a large number of applicants and questions that range from moderate to difficult.
• Expected number of applications: Around 25 lakh+ for SSC CGL Around 30 lakh+ for SSC CHSL Around 40 lakh+ for SSC GD Around 15 lakh+ for SSC MTS
• Due to the high number of applicants, the competition ratio is roughly between 1:200 and 1:400 for most major SSC exams, depending on vacancies and year.
• Previous cut-off ranges for the General category typically fall in these bands (varies by year and vacancy):
  • SSC CGL Tier-I (out of 200): 120 to 145 marks
  • SSC CHSL Tier-I (out of 200): 130 to 155 marks
• The overall success rate for top posts in SSC exams is usually less than 0.5 percent.
• Most serious aspirants find that 6 to 12 months of regular and structured preparation is needed to compete effectively.

SSC One-Time Registration (OTR) Process

• First, visit the official SSC website - https://ssc.gov.in/ and click on the Login or Registration.
• Enter your basic details such as full name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID. After this, you will receive OTPs on your mobile and email, which must be verified.
• Once verified, you need to fill in your personal details, address, category, and educational qualifications. After that, upload your photograph and signature in the required format.
• If Aadhaar verification is available, linking Aadhaar is recommended for faster processing.
• After submitting all details, your SSC OTR profile will be created, and you will receive an OTR ID and password. This same login is used to apply for all SSC exams, download admit cards, and check results.
