Application Fee

Age Limit & Selection Process

• Age Limit: 18-40 years as on 01/07/2026 (Technical Assistant and Assistant District Panchayat Raj Officer : 21-40 years). Age relaxation as per UP Government rules.
• Selection Process: Shortlisting on PET-2025 Score → Mains Written Exam (100 marks) → Document Verification → Merit List.

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (BTE UP, a university or institute), or AICTE National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (BTE UP, a university or institute), or AICTE National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering

• High School and 3 year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from BTE UP or equivalent

• 3 year Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) from a recognised polytechnic

• Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised polytechnic

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution

• 3 year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from BTE UP or equivalent

• Intermediate (UP Board or equivalent) and 3 year Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance trade

• Only candidates who appeared in UPSSSC PET-2025 and got its score card can apply. About 15 times the posts, category-wise, are called for the mains exam on PET-2025 normalised score.

Salary & Pay Scale Details

• Junior Engineer (Irrigation, PWD), ADPRO (Technical), Technical Assistant, Instructor Machine : Level 6, ₹35,400 – 1,12,400
• Mechanic (UPSRTC) : Level 5, ₹29,200 – 92,300
• Assistant Storekeeper (UPSRTC) : Level 4, ₹25,500 – 81,100
• Dearness and other allowances as per UP Government rules

Exam Pattern

• Part 1 – Mechanical Engineering (Theory of Machines, Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Thermodynamics, IC Engine, Steam and Power Plant, Refrigeration, Fluid Mechanics) : 65 Questions, 65 Marks
• Part 2 – Computer and Information Technology : 15 Questions, 15 Marks
• Part 3 – General Knowledge of Uttar Pradesh : 20 Questions, 20 Marks
• Total 100 Questions, 100 Marks, 2 hours; objective type
• Negative marking : 1/4 mark for each wrong answer

Application Process

1. Open upsssc.gov.in and click Advt. No. 24-Exam/2026 under Live Advertisements to read and apply.
2. Log in with your PET-2025 Registration Number using the OTP sent to your registered mobile or email.
3. Your PET-2025 details, photo and signature appear on their own and cannot be changed here.
4. Select every post you want; a post you do not select will not be considered for you.
5. Fill your qualification details and the Yes / No option for Territorial Army or NCC ‘B’ certificate.
6. Enter the verification code, Save and Submit, then pay the fee online or by SBI e-Challan.
7. After the fee is reconciled the form is submitted; download and print it for document verification.
